JAKARTA - Twitter is again testing a new feature, where users can adjust the video playback speed in the micro-blogging application.

The iry video player speed or playback speed options are currently being tested for Android and web version users. Some users who took part in the test reported seeing a small settings icon at the top right of the video to change the speed while watching the video.

As seen from the report tweeted by @TwitterSupport, users are given the option to slow down the video or speed it up by 0.25x or as fast as 2x. This feature is rolling out slowly and will be available to everyone in the near future.

According to Twitter spokesman Joseph Nuñez quoted from The Verge, Wednesday, February 9, users will be able to choose your playback speed on, “Tweet Videos, Amplify Videos, Voice Tweets, video in DMs, and Video Live Replays, depending on their platform, " said Nuñez.

He also said that Twitter plans to expand testing to iOS in the future. Keep in mind the video playback speed option on Twitter is currently in test mode and only available to some users.

So not all users can access these features. This feature, of course, will provide flexibility for users to consume video content.

Twitter recently re-tested the downvote feature, which was previously carried out in June 2021. This time, many users globally were selected in the test.

The company says it will be expanding the feature to iOS and Android users soon. The downvote button will appear as a downward-facing arrow to the right of the heart-shaped button.

Unlike on sites like Reddit, the tally for upvotes and downvotes isn't public, but is used by Twitter behind the scenes to change the replies it displays to users.

According to the experimental results so far, Twitter has found that most users choose to downvote because they think the reply is offensive, irrelevant, or both.
