JAKARTA - The East Jakarta City Government (Jaktim) has relocated street vendors (PKL) who sell in front of Ciracas Market, Ciracas District, to the assisted location. Ciracas Village Head, Rikia Marwan said, there were 120 street vendors who had been registered to be transferred to the Susukan assisted location, Ciracas District.

"From coordination with PD Pasar Jaya, almost 75 percent of trade in Ciracas Market rejected the existence of street vendors," said Rikia.

Rikia added that previously the plan to relocate street vendors to Ciracas Market was canceled because they were not ready for parking lots to be used to accommodate street vendors.

The street vendors have previously been given a warning letter (SP) 1, and SP 2 regarding the arrangement, while the SP 3 is scheduled to be delivered this Monday.

Head of East Jakarta Satpol PP Budhy Novian said that later there would be 200 joint personnel deployed to organize street vendors selling in front of Ciracas Market.

This number includes joint personnel from the ranks of the City Government and the TNI-Polri who are involved in the arrangement which is planned to be carried out on Wednesday, October 5.

Budhy said the street vendors in front of Ciracas Market were relocated for selling on the sidewalk, causing traffic jams on Jalan Raya Ciracas, and lost access for pedestrians because they were used to trade.

"This location often occurs in traffic jams due to the mobility of crowded vehicles. In fact, it is an alternative from (Jalan) Raya Bogor to Cibubur, Taman Mini and Pondok Gede, the roads are small," said Budhy.
