JAKARTA - Cosmoto MX, Ubas Extreme, Sparta Adventure and, CRF Rally Indonesia merged into the Garuda Rimba Raid 2023 Rider Team to face an off-road racing event called Rimba Raid Taman Negara 2023, which will be held in Malaysia, on August 31 - September 3, 2023.

There are three classes contested in this event, namely Master A Class with 1000cc Adventure Motors and above. Class B, 250-990cc two cylinders or more, and Class C, one 250 cc cylinder and above.

It is planned that as many as 280 participants from 24 countries, 32 racing teams, and 19 motorcycle manufacturer brands will take part. Not only that, there are also 20 female participants from 6 countries.

Riders will challenge a 200 km wilderness field using the fastest time system using a timekeeper as well as a manual direction. Rally will use a 130-year-old Malaysian protected forest venue.

All classes will compete on the same track. They will travel time on the ground with a fairly heavy obstacle to nature.

The terrain that the riders will pass through is very difficult, in the form of footpaths in the forest, hills and mountains and crossing the river. While the obstacles that must be conquered in are 'Bukit Tobat', Tembeling Sandbank', Crun Hell and Gerbang Pesakahan.

In total, Garuda Rimba Raid 2023 will decrease by seven riders. They are Wawan Kadri, Nanang Surya Fajar, Iskandar Sudirman, Tajul Arifin, Taofic Arifin, Danny Khadarusman and Benny Saputra.

Meanwhile, Wawan Kadri, who is a racer from Ubas Sparta, admitted that the terrain he would go through was quite difficult. Nevertheless, he is optimistic that he will achieve success in this jungle race.

"Every racer must have a high target. This target is quite realistic considering the difficult terrain and flying hours of racers from other countries. I only pray and support from the Indonesian people so that they can get the best results in this event," said Wawan Kadri.

This annual offroad competition is the eighth time since it was first held in 2015 and became the biggest adventure racing event in ASEAN.
