JAKARTA - After launching his solo debut single last July, Kadri the Singing Lawyer introduced his latest single titled Bareh Solok, which is a rearrangement of the song of the same name by Nuskan Syarief.

The song 'Barek Solok' itself is known as one of the iconic works that reflects the beauty of Minangkabau culture, which is trying to be revived with a new arrangement that combines traditional nuances and modern pop.

For this second solo single, Kadri duet with Rayola. Meanwhile, the power pop music arrangement presented involved Kelana Halim and LiLo the Producer.

Traditional rhythmics are still used to maintain the authenticity of the song, but combined with modern pop elements that make it relevant to the younger generation.

For Kadri, the new version of "Bareh Solok" single comes as a form of respect for original works, as well as an effort to reach wider listeners.

"Why did I bring this song? Because I happen to be from Minangkabau, my father is Payakumbuh, my mother is Bukittinggi. I also want to raise legendary songs, songs that are already rooted in Minangkabau, in a more contemporary version," said Kadri when contacted by VOI, Saturday, December 14.

Kadri called the presence of her body to maintain the musical style that was carried in the previous single, Karmila. He also felt that the involvement of the KLa Project guitarist made it easier for his mission to bring Bereh Solok to listeners outside of Minang pop music connoisseurs.

I also see that the potential for traditional songs or regional language songs is rooted. So I already have my own market. It's just that usually Minang's songs are performed with pop music that tends to be a single organ. Now, now we bring it up in a complete musical composition with the band, and also a more modern sound-sound," he said.

The Makara band's vocalist also said that the musical style that was promoted adjusted to his eccentric dress style, by combining modern and retro elements.

"This is a package (music with a style of dress), so finally young people now, these skena children are also looking for products like this," said Kadri.

The concept in the single 'Barak Solok', said Kadri, wants to make local cultural products in Indonesia continue to be relevant to its supporting communities.

The target market is people in the area and overseas people. So, gur is very confident in this "Bereh Solok"," he concluded.
