JAKARTA - Paul McCartney recalled his admiration when Guns N Roses covered his hit song with Wings, Live & Let Die, a 1973 release.

The song was written for the James Bond film of the same title before being covered by the legendary 80s rocker two decades later and appeared on their 1991 album Use Your Illusion I.

McCartney even admitted that he was surprised that the cover song was quite successful, so it was misinterpreted as the original song Guns N 'Roses and not one of his songs.

Speaking on his A Life In Lyrics podcast, McCartney said: 'I think it's actually pretty good. I'm even more amazed that they actually did it, this young American band.

"The interesting thing was that my kids went to school and they said, 'My dad wrote that.' They said, 'No, he didn't write it down, it's the Guns N' Roses song,' so no one will believe them. For the time being only Guns N 'Roses,'McCartney recalls.

I'm so happy they're performing this song again. I've always liked people singing my song," he added.
