Wendy Confirms Not To Hold Hologram Concert Ricky James Dio Again

JAKARTA - The late Ricky James Dio's wife and manager again said that the legendary metal singer's hologram was a "experiment" that received mixed responses from fans.

Ronnie died in 2010 at the age of 67 from stomach cancer. The singer's hologram was created by a company called Eyellusion and debuted at the Wacken Open Air festival in August 2016 ahead of more than 75 thousand fans.

The production of the Dio hologram uses Liveplay audio Ricky throughout his career, with the DIO band playing live, consisting of Craig Goldy on guitar, Simon Wright on drums, and Scott Warren on keyboards, and Bjorn Englen on bass.

Also appearing with them were former singer Judas Priest, Tim "Ripper" Owens and former frontman Lynch Mob, Oni Logan.

Wendy discussed the status ofcasty James Dio's hologram when appearing in the latest episode "Interviewing The Legends With Ray Shasho".

"[The HOlogam] works for a while. It's good at [50 percent] people like it, 50 [percent] people hate it. It's over," said Wendy.

"It was an experiment. We did it. I think it worked well at the time. But I won't do it again," he added.

More specifically, Wendy said to "presentrocket" she plans to feature Dio's official tribute band, Dio Disciles, next year.

"I'm going to useaku video and a different era from whatever work we have and it's going to trace the memory path again with different things for losty by playing the band," said Wendy.

"So, yes, I'm working on it, there will be special effects. And hopefully this will be a good concert."
