Ariel NOAH Complete Chronological Story For The Formation Of Peterpan

JAKARTA - Ariel NOAH revealed the initial process of the formation of Peterpan. The story was conveyed when he was a guest on the YouTube channel Ferdy ELEMENT.

Previously, Andika told about the beginning of the formation of Peterpan to Ferdy Element. However, the story is considered too short. Ariel felt there was no clear context of what Andika said.

Peterpan itu, berarti memang ada dua cerita. Kalau dari saya sendiri, memang selalu standarnya kan anak muda Bandung menemukan identitas dirinya melalui musik, kata Ariel memulai cerita soal dibentuknya Peterpan.

Meanwhile, Ariel first got to know Uki (guitar). They attend the same junior high school. Ariel and Uki also started playing the band with other friends, namely Qibil (The Changcuters).

Moving to high school, Ariel, who was already starting to compose songs, got to know Lukman (guitar) from where he used to spend time in between schools.

From his meeting with Lukman, Ariel was introduced to Andika (keyboards) and Indra (bass).

"So, I met Andika there. The first time I helped Lukman, we only played twice. Once playing at the cafe and the other playing at my high school. The band's name was 1979," said Ariel.

"After that, I never played again. That's it," he added.

However, at high school, Ariel also joined other bands consisting of Uki, Qibil and Erik (The Changcuters). At that time they carried British pop music by performing British band songs.

After graduating from high school, Ariel admitted that he was contacted by Andika, who at that time wanted to form a band to play in cafes in Bandung.

Even though Ariel was already in another band, he still accepted the offer to form a new band with Andika and Indra.

"At that time there was no name Peterpan, there was no name yet. The target was to play in the cafe. Indeed, the scene of the Bandung band used to be if we didn't play in the bazaar and cafe. There we can feel like music children," said Ariel.

Meanwhile, Peterpan's name was sparked without thinking. Ariel said, the name was chosen to audition for play at a cafe in Bandung.

As for the band name, Ariel did not deny that the name Peterpan was first made by Andika, which was then approved by other personnel.

Over time, the cafe band often replaces its personnel. Only Ariel, Andika and Indra settled from the start.

Due to a mismatch, other personnel were replaced. Uki entered to replace the previous guitarist. Then, Lukman joined to play guitar. Finally, Reza came to replace the previous drummer position.

With this formation, Peterpan also played in the cafe for about a year.

"The initial formulation is still playing in Ohara. A year if I'm not mistaken," said Ariel.

"So, it's not like Peterpan has finished, after that I entered, no. After I entered, there were many who had just entered, I brought this, Indra brought Reza," he continued.

Ariel also regretted the opinion that developed because of the incomplete story of Andika.

"That's why (the story of Andika) is too short, and can create wild opinions," concluded Ariel.
