JAKARTA - Duff McKagan shared his thoughts on using AI (artificial intelligence) in songwriting, revealing that he had no plans to let the technology affect my creativity.

The Guns N 'Roses bassist spoke as part of an In Conversation live broadcast with writer Dan Jones last week (October 4), when he opened up about the inspiration behind Lighthouse's new solo album, his fight against panic attacks, and thoughts about the use of artificial intelligence in songwriting.

Discussing how his personal life and his interest in history are an inspiration for the upcoming full album, the musician and songwriter also shared his thoughts on increasing AI use in the industry, and confirmed that he has no plans to experiment with the technology. in the near future.

Duff continued, saying that he chose to take inspiration from the support he got from his family.

"I have a very good situation at home... having such convenience at home and that support really helps me," he said.

He has joined many artists who have opposed the use of AI in recent months, including Brian May, Ed Sheeran, and John Lydon.

However, one of the most productive examples in which an artist spoke up was Bad Seeds vocalist Nick Cave, who described the concept as a "terrible joke against what it means to be human".

Nick then said that he wanted the AI platform as well as the ChatGPT "don't interfere with the songwriting process".
