Mike Mangini Expresses Lyric Inspiration For Single Soloatur Of Nature

JAKARTA - Dream Theater drummer Mike Mangini will release a new solo single, jurisprudence of Nature, Friday, October 6. The song will appear on Mangini's debut solo album which is scheduled to arrive at the end of 2023 or early 2024.

In a recently released video message, Mangini talks about inspirals to the lyrics Of Nature.

"The Lyrics Of Nature appeared quite interestingly. When I researched the things I was interested in, like power and natural law, and I found storms and natural forces attacking me, but it didn't sound too good for me," said Mangini.

"Then, suddenly, the'strangeness of nature' is heard from somewhere. And what's interesting is that it is attached to this entire album; it absorbs everything if there is a meaning, but the sound system is more important to me, because if the sound system is not correct, in my opinion no one will want to sing it, if that makes sense," he continued.

"So, I think of other weird creatures, such as musicians and athletes and the like, and Rob Gronkowski, who played for the [New England] Patriots, come to my mind, because he's like a power that can't be stopped some of the things that go into the song." "But most importantly, I'm concerned about his voice, and fortunately that sentence came to my mind, the strangeness of nature, and I like it. So I based all the lyrics on it."

Last week, Mangini released a separate video message in which he spoke of "music source" fortensive Of Nature.

"One thing that is not a recreation of any band I have ever participated in. I mean, why did I do that? I've worked with, and have worked with, the best band that did that. So it's not something I want to do. Plus in Dream Theater, everyone's solo album sounds different from Dream Theater's last album."
