Andmesh Kamaleng's Dream Of Lifting The Talent Of Local Music In East Nusa Tenggara

JAKARTA - The success of Andmesh Kamaleng in the national music industry has made him one of the current music icons from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The reason is, Andmesh was born and raised in the province adjacent to Timor Leste.

In the release of the latest album titled Cinta & Prayer, Andmesh also showed his attention to the role of NTT musicians in the national arena.

Andmesh again performed the song created by Faisal Resi, the songwriter of Cinta Extraordinary which became the song Andmesh which was heard the most on Spotify.

There is one new song created by Faisal Resi, he is the songwriter of Cinta Extraordinary. So, Andmesh entered one more song from him. Incidentally, he is a Kupang child, coincidentally Kupang village Andmesh village. So, Andmesh supports Kupang children on this album," said Andmesh Kamaleng to the media crew at Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta last week.

Not only that, Andmesh also invited local NTT singer, Ria to collaborate with him on the album Cinta & Prayer.

"There is nothing wrong with us lifting local talent from NTT. And hopefully that can be a way for him in the Indonesian music industry," said Andmesh.

"In accordance with Andmesh's statement a few years ago, who had said that he wanted to orbit one of the artists from the region himself, and hopefully that can be achieved," he added.

Andmesh also had big dreams for the advancement of NTT musicians. Starting from involving local musicians on the new album, he hopes to set up his own label.

This is the beginning of Andmesh as a producer, as a songwriter as well. Hopefully, I can have my own label, to be able to raise NTT children and eastern children to have a stage in Jakarta," said Andmesh Kamaleng.
