Jevin Julian's View On Royalties For Song Creators

JAKARTA - Singer and songwriter Jevin Julian also highlighted the issue of royalties that have been discussed by songwriters again recently.

Jevin Julian sees royalties as a source of income songwriters can come from many places.

"For me, as a musician who has a song, royalties can be found from many things," said Jevin Julian in Sudirman, Jakarta on Tuesday, September 12.

Rinni Wulandari's husband did not mind if the song was performed by another singer, even performed at a concert.

One thing that will be a problem when his songs are recognized by others.

"People who want to cover songs, live music at a cafe and people perform my songs during a gig, for me it doesn't really matter at all," said Jevin.

He saw what people were doing by singing his songs instead promoting himself as a songwriter.

"So, according to me, it is also my promotion, I am happy, it means being liked by people and known to people. There is only one, don't admit it," he said.

Jevin also appealed to anyone who covered or performed the song not to forget to include credit that it was his song.

"Please just tell me, this is Jevin's song. After that, you want to bring it up, it doesn't matter at all," he said.

Despite his views, Jevin admitted that many people had contacted him to ask for permission to perform his songs.

"Yes, yes (I immediately gave permission). But don't just admit it, you must have ethics. It's impossible for you to bring my song and you keep saying it yourself. It's just a problem for me," concluded Jevin Julian.
