Spotify Presents Voice From Indonesia To Realize Dreams To Be Home To Music In The Country

JAKARTA - Spotify's audio streaming platform wants to prove its commitment as home to Indonesian music with its diversity through Voice from Indonesia.

Through its latest program, it is hoped that the support and appreciation of Indonesian musicians will be higher.

Spotify lifts the musical journey of 7 local heroes, each representing and reflecting the spirit of the region of origin.

The seven local heroes are Reality Club - Suara from DKI Jakarta, Andmesh - Suara from Eastern Indonesia, Guyon Waton - Suara from Yogyakarta, Anggi Marito - Suara from North Sumatra, Happy Asmara - Suara from East Java, Soegi Bornean - Suara from Central Java, and Rossa - Suara from West Java.

Gautam Talwar as Spotify Managing Director of APAC said, Voice from Indonesia is a response to the success that many Indonesian musicians have achieved on its platform.

"We see more and more Indonesian artists dominating our charts, and finding success that penetrates the boundaries of space and time. We realize that Indonesian music is so rich and diverse," said Gautam Talwar during a press conference in Menteng, Jakarta on Thursday, August 10.

With many things being tried for the past decade, Gautam ensures its platform will continue to grow and provide the best for its listeners.

"We've had more than hundreds of millions of songs, we have a good relationship with the music industry, but we'll also hear what listeners want," he said.

Furthermore, Cassandra Aprilanda as Marketing Lead Spotify Indonesia stated that the voice from Indonesia was only the beginning of the series that had been prepared.

There will be many other Indonesian songs to be presented, including songs recorded before independence by previous musicians.

A voice from Indonesia is just the beginning. From here we have a starting point and we want to inspire more and more other musicians to be enjoyed by Indonesian listeners and the world," he said.

Not only musicians who are already widely known will be in Suara from Indonesia. The curation of talented local artists continues to be done in order to provide the best home to grow, work, and most importantly, connect with the listeners.
