Footage for Nickelback's official documentary titled Hate to Love: Nickelback, has been released.

Directed by British filmmaker Leigh Brooks, the film will explore the origins of the Canadian rock band, the success of those topped the charts, and the negative things that follow them regardless of their overall commercial success.

The trailer features Nickelback exploring their hometowns as well as tickets for their sold-out arena concerts.

"No one takes the guitar to become the most hated band in the world," guitarist Ryan Peake said in one scene. We try to laugh at it. You can laugh at about 90 percent of it. Some of it... hurts, "added Chadian vocalist Kroeger.

"I played Nickelback songs for Nickelback fans, so I don't have to go and try to win someone who doesn't like my band," Kroeger added in the trailer.

Hate to Love: Nickelback will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Kroeger previously discussed all the hatred Nickelback received. Last year, the band released their 10th studio album Get Rollin, in an interview with Audacy, Kroeger joked: You know, we're always joking about that. I'm like, 'I'm ready the world to hate us again'.

When asked if they could be superheroes, who they are and what their strengths are, Kroeger once again explained the situation by adding: "We will be Captain Whipping Boy, and we will be able to take more dirt than anyone else."
