JAKARTA - The story of God Bless' journey, known as one of the largest rock bands in Indonesia, will be brought to the big screen. This was revealed by Denny MR as the representative of God Bless' management during the launch of the album Anthology 50th Anniversary at Bentara Budaya Jakarta, Wednesday.

Like the album Anthology was made to celebrate God Bless' 50th birthday, the making of a film about God Bless' journey was carried out in order to welcome the 51st anniversary in the coming year.

"The film is planned to start in October. Indeed, the target is 2024 (view), so hopefully it will run smoothly," said Denny MR.

"If we meet again later, yes next year, on God Bless's 51st birthday," he continued.

A little bit of a leak about the film to be made, Denny MR said that the story of God Bless' journey will be presented as a biopic, where Hanung Bramantyo becomes the director.

However, Denny MR did not go into detail about who would play the personnel of this legendary band, and what period the story would be raised into the film later.

"There will definitely be things that will be investigated more deeply, about what people really want to know about God Bless," said Denny MR.

God Bless' journey, who is half a century old, is known to have a very diverse story. As said by bassist Donny Fattah, God Bless has gone through at least four different periods of music in Indonesia.

"God Bless has gone through four different periods, the 70s where the amplifiers were very difficult and the mixers didn't exist either. Then in the 80s where the tools were still very rare. Then in the 90s and 2000s which was much more modern. So, we have broken down the world of music from four generations, yes, we have been there until now," said Donny Fattah.
