JAKARTA - Coldplay has succeeded in reducing the carbon footprint of their concerts. The figures shown in the latest research reveal this.

Coldplay's world stadium tour comes with an emphasis on environmental sustainability, and began last March in South America before coming to the United States and Britain last summer.

Currently, the tour is in its second and middle of a new UK schedule.

Research conducted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has been revealed. These figures suggest that the band has emitted 47 percent less carbon emissions on the world tour 'Music Of The Spheres' than their 2016 and 2017 tours.

"This is a good start - and something our crew must be proud of - but obviously there is still room for improvement," Coldplay said.

About changes to the system to increase sustainability, Coldplay said that they are currently entering their second year of tour and they are starting to run the entire show (audio, lights, laser, etc.) of the electric battery system.

"This allows us to use 100 percent renewable energy as efficiently as possible. We have used alternative electric and fuel vehicles as much as possible, as well as reduced the use of waste and plastic to a minimum," Coldplay said.

These tour environmentally friendly measures are set in the new'sustainability' section on Coldplay's official website.

The measures aim to reduce direct emissions by 50 percent compared to the band's last tours in 2016 and 2017, using 100 percent renewable energy and having solar power installations in every place.
