Dave Mustaine Is Still Misuh About His Dismissal From Metallica, Ellefson: Sad

JAKARTA - David Ellefson said Dave Mustaine was still making up about the incident of his dismissal from Metallica 40 years ago and it was very sad.

Mustaine, frontman Megadeth and former Metallica guitarist, was expelled from Metallica in 1983 for alcoholism, drug abuse and personal clashes with James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich.

Mustaine formed Megadeth in the same year, where Ellefson played bass in the band, from early to 2002, and again from 2010 to 2021 before being fired after being convicted of sexual harassment.

Not long ago, Ellefson reflected on his dismissal and Mustaine in a new interview with the Brazilian Heavy Talk online event.

"I saw how [Mustaine] treated her dismissal from Metallica, still naging about it 40 years later, and I think it looks very sad," Ellefson said.

"And it's like, 'You know what? Fix your body and get up," he continued.

"And that's why I released four albums at the time Megadeth's last album came out, and I think everything is just as good or better than Megadeth's latest album."

Since his dismissal from Megadeth, Ellefson himself formed a new band called The Lucid, which released self-titled albums in October 2021 and EP, Saddle Up And Ride, this year.
