JAKARTA - The Rolling Stones confirmed Paul McCartney will appear as a special guest in their upcoming band album.

In an electronic letter to CNN, representatives of The Rolling Stones revealed McCartney would play the bass "only on one RS song".

The representative also denied reports that Beatles drummer Ringo Starr appeared on the studio album, saying the tape "there is no Ringo Starr at all."

The upcoming album The Rolling Stones will be the first since their drummer, Charlie Watts, died in 2021.

According to Variety, 80-year-old McCartney recorded the bass part during a recording session that took place in Los Angeles in recent weeks.

The album, which was worked on by "Producer Of The Year" Grammy 2021 Andrew Watt, is reportedly approaching the mixing phase.

Meanwhile, last month, guitarist Keith Richards shared with fans in an Instagram video that "there are some new music to be released."

The album in question will likely include several songs recorded by Watts prior to his death.
