JAKARTA - The November Rain video clip from Guns N 'Roses surpassed two billion views on YouTube. The clip, which was first released 31 years ago, was only uploaded to the platform in December 2009.

Released in the album Use Your Illusion I in 1991, the original version of November Rain lasted nine minutes and seven seconds.

The video clip that accompanies him follows the story of a troubled rock star (played by vocalist Axl Rose), his girlfriend (played by Axl's then lover, Stephanie path), and his mysterious suicide.

In 2018, the November Rain video clip became the oldest music video to reach one billion views on YouTube.

"This is an epic production," Slash recalled to author Clay Marshall.

Slash also revealed in his autobiography that the earliest 18-minute version of November Rain was recorded in a session with guitarist Manny Charlton (from rock band Lecture) in 1986, before the session for GN'R's debut album, Appetite For Destruction, began.

In a 2014 interview with HuffPost Live, Slash admitted that he didn't know the meaning behind the November Rain video clip. "You know what?! Frankly, I don't know," Slash replied when asked about the meaning of the clip.

"Well, it's a concept. The song itself is pretty clear, but the video is very complex. And I remember when Axl wrote it, it became... very epic, like a movie."
