JAKARTA - Marking that MT-07's first export to the European market, PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) has just held a ceremony on Monday, September 18, 2023 at the YIMM head office, Pulogadung, East Jakarta.

It is known, YIMM is trusted by Yamaha Motor Company (YMC) to be the production base for the MT-07 model aimed at the European market. This is the first achievement for this factory, which previously focused on motors with 250 cc engine down.

This decision is clear evidence that YIMM is not only given the confidence to produce small-engined motors, but also has the ability to assemble larger two-wheeled vehicles, including models such as R3, MT-03, and most recently, MT-07.

MT-07 is part of the popular MT Series line among big bike fans. The bike features a typical MT design that reflects the Hyper Naked character. MT-07 dashing design can be seen from the LED Projector lights that increase visibility with maximum lighting, equipped with DRL and sein LED. MT-07 also has a digital LED speedometer with a 5-inch TFT screen connected to a smartphone.

In addition, the control of MT-07 is very good thanks to its high handlebar position and increasing comfort width. This motorbike is also equipped with a dual disc brake front with a large diameter of 298 mm which provides progressive braking at all speeds. The Michelin Road 5 tires used by MT-07 also provide maximum control.

MT-07 performance is supported by a 689 cc 2 cylinder engine, using liquid-cooled, liquid-cooled technology ( Euro 5 standard). Known for the character of the Master of Torque, the maximum torque produced by the MT-07 engine is 67 Nm at 6,500 rpm. While the maximum power is 54 kW at 8,750 rpm.

Dyonisius Beti, President Director and CEO of PT YIMM, expressed their pride for this trust and the achievement of producing the first moge that was actually assembled in Indonesia. He also stated that MT-07 currently occupies the top position in its class in the European market, which further spurs the enthusiasm to produce this motorcycle.

"We are confident that with the increased production capability of MT-07 at YIMM, this will be a big leap that will lead us to the next major motorcycle variants, as well as strengthen confidence in the quality of Indonesian Yamaha production," Dyonisius said in a statement received by VOI on Monday, September 18.

YIMM has long been involved in the production of Yamaha two-wheeled vehicles for more than 50 years. They have assembly facilities that meet international standards located in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, and Karawang, West Java.

As MT-07 became a model to be exported overseas for the global market, the company has successfully produced more than 2 million motorcycles that have been shipped to more than 40 countries in Asia, Europe, America, Australia, and even Africa.
