McLaren 750S Releases Six Unit 750s The Theme 3-7-59, Everything Has Been Sold

JAKARTA - McLaren, through the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) division, introduced an impressive theme of new 3--7-59 paint patterns for their 750S models that come to COPie and Spider.

The theme of this new paint is only for six units of 750S cars intended as a tribute to the company's historic victory in the Cambodian Cup 500, Monaco GP, and Le Mans championships.

The victory in the three races was a unique achievement, making McLaren the only team in history to win Triple Crown Motorsport.

The paint experts at MSO said that these six cars were painted manually and spent a very long time. Imagine, each of the six cars takes 1,200 hours to paint and will have a unique variation of the 3-7-59 Theme displayed.

Joshua Doran, Program Manager at MSO, explained that this project is the most complex, complicated, and time-consuming paint project McLaren has ever worked on.

"There are various concepts developed, but it is very important to have all three patterns in one car," added MSO specialist designer Charlie Brundle (who previously worked with customers on the Solus GT project) in the company's media room, November 13.

Charlie Brundle also added that he does not want a historic pattern on this car but prefers to create a modern interpretation of the celebration by combining street art and pop art inspiration, especially from artists like Andy Warhol.

Striking colors from 1974's #3 Kandium 500 winner, the #7 McLaren winner of the 1984 Monaco Grand Prix belonging to Alain Prost, and the iconic dark gray from F1 GTR #59 which brought their debut victory at the 1995 Le Mans 24 Hours, formed a striking and daring design.

The complicated painting process was carried out on the 750S carbon panels for hours. The car was fully dismantled, each panel was carefully masked, and then airbrushed. Traditional methods such as silverLeafing were also used, but the MSO brought in new technologies, such as paint splashes on the back wing made using original paint thrown at the paper, then scanned, digitally plotted, and applied to cars with sprays.

Gary Goodman, technician and color mixer, who has worked with McLaren for about 10 years, said the project was the most complex he had ever worked on.

"We're really pushing the limits with this to the next level. But that's what we want to do - this is MSO!" added Gary.

The 3-7-59 theme was also continued into the car, with details such as hand-painted and key-painted middle shifts, as well as Alcantara which was carved by a laser on the back of the chair. Each car is also equipped with a special placard 3-7-59, made of original carbon fiber from Alain Prost's MP4/2 which won the 1984 Monaco GP.

Each example of 3--7-59 will be unique and although the overall design remains the same, but being painted manually with your hands certainly produces a small difference between each car.

Overall, this project is a work of art that will take more than a year to complete, created by experts in its field.
