JAKARTA - Mazda has introduced a comprehensive update to the Mazda2 Hybrid model, aimed at the European market. The model, which, based on the Toyota Yaris platform, has received significant refreshers in various aspects, including exterior designs and a variety of new trims.

Reporting from Motor1, Thursday, September 28, the hatchback of the five-door B segment now has a fresher look with a new front goal and bumper design. The back of the vehicle also carries a touch of sporty with small wings hanging and changes to the lights and rear bumper.

The presence of this update also adds some of the latest trims, including Prime, Center, Exclusive, Homura, and Homura Plus, each with its own unique features.

One trim, namely Prime, which is a beginner variant, is equipped with keyless entry features, USB-C connectivity, and an integrated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Meanwhile, variants like the Center have an improved audio system, while the trim Exclusive is equipped with automatic folding rearview mirrors, 16-inch rims, and front and rear parking sensors to help drivers when parking.

Moving to the two highest trims, Homura has 17-inch LED, rim, and double automatic temperature controller lighting. While Homura Plus offers a 9-inch multimedia display as a standard and 10.5 inches as an additional option. This variant is also equipped with a panoramic glass roof.

The latest Mazda2 Hybrid is powered by Toyota's 1.5 liter 3-cylinder engine combined with a single electric motor, producing up to 114 dk of power. In terms of performance, this car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/hour in 9.7 seconds and reaches the highest speed of up to 175 km/hour.

Despite offering a sporty display and performance, Mazda2 Hybrid still maintains fuel efficiency. With a combination of gasoline and electric engines, this hatchback has a consumption of fuel that is efficient, reaching up to 3.8 liters per 100 km, depending on the size of the wheels and the trim level.

Mazda2 Hybrid's updated presence is in line with Mazda's multi-solution strategy of reducing emissions, being part of a global product line that includes Mazda3, as well as crossovers such as CX-30 and CX-5 that are already available on the United States market.
