Hyundai Ioniq 6 Wins Best Car Award From IIHS

JAKARTA - After winning the World Car of the Year Award 2023, Hyundai Ioniq 6 was again awarded a good technology and security features.

The electric sedan won a prestigious award, namely Top Safety Pick+ Rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the US recently.

Ioniq 6 is recognized to have fulfilled a more stringent evaluation of the feasibility of the IIHS collision with a front collision prevention system designed to protect pedestrians both during the day and at night.

Brian Latouf, as Hyundai Motor Company's Global Chief Safety Officer, said that with the award, his party has ensured that customer safety is the main priority and is at the heart of what the company has been doing so far.

"We are very proud that IONIQ 6 2023 has won a significant safety award because this further strengthens Hyundai's efforts to become an industry leader in the IIHS award," Brian said in his statement, Thursday, September 14.

In this award, Hyundai Ioniq 6 won the Top Safety Pick+ 2023, and reached its highest value in the collision test on the overlap of the driver side, the passenger side ahead, as well as an updated side test.

To gain this ranking, the vehicle's headlights must obtain an "Acceptable" or "Good" value, which has been mandatory for all variants, and the front collision prevention system must get an "Advanced" or "Superior."

In an updated side test, Hyundai Ioniq 6 obtained an "Acceptable" or adequate assessment, and in a pedestrian collision test during the day, this vehicle must obtain an "Advanced" or "Superior."

Hyundai Ioniq 6 has a length dimension of 4,855 mm, a width of 1,880 mm, a height of 1,495 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. With this wide size, Ioniq 6 offers comfort to its users.

In Indonesia, Hyundai only provides one variant, namely Ioniq 6 All-Wheel Drive (AWD), which is expected to be able to compete with Tesla Model 3 and Mercedes-Benz EQE Sedan.
