JAKARTA - Recently, BMW provided details regarding the eighth generation car from the 5-series which will be introduced in October 2023.

They released an official teaser of the fully electric i5 car, also confirming that the car will be available in sedan and touring versions. The sedan version will be present in the more powerful M Performance variant.

In the teaser, you can see the BMW i5 sedan still covered, but the LED lights on the car are visible. There you can also see that there is a kidney grille typical of the Bavarian manufacturer.

The touring version of the BMW i5 will overtake the sedan model in 2024, which was previously caught on camera during a trial run.

Oliver Sipse, Chairman of the Management Board of BMW AG, revealed that the all-electric model from BMW M GmbH will also be included in the new BMW 5-series sedan lineup.

BMW also revealed more about the new ICE-powered 5-Series. The powertrain will later adopt petrol and diesel with 48-volt mild hybrid technology.

Despite offering plug-in hybrids, BMW continues to provide buyers with a wide choice of offerings. BMW said that the 5-series is the most dynamic and comfortable.

For the interior, it is estimated that the new generation will feature a BMW Curved Display which is run by Linux-based BMW OS 8.5. However, the 5-series may receive an Android-based OS 9.0 update.

The BMW i5 will be produced at the same factory as the 7-series, 8-series and iX. The factory will also produce electric motors and batteries for the i5.
