11 Participants Elected For The Art Creative Space Program Show Nurbaya's Story

JAKARTA - A total of eleven selected participants of the 2021 Performance Art Creative Space Program have returned to Indonesia to present the results of their training through the Nurbaya Musical Fragment which was displayed at the Indonesia Kaya Gallery Auditorium, Saturday (18/11).

For approximately 60 minutes, the selected participants presented Nurbaya Musical Series performances with fresh packaging combined with elements of romance stories, as well as modernly packaged intrigues with attractive music.

"The participation of young artists in this program is an opportunity to hone artistic skills so as to encourage the growth and development of stage artists and make a big contribution to the progress of the performing arts industry in Indonesia," said Program Director of the Indonesia Gallery Kaya Renitasari Adrian as quoted by Antara, Minggu.

The Creative Arts Performance Room program is a training for young artists and art lovers to get stage science briefing with international standards and open up opportunities for selected participants to get brief training abroad.

Renitasari said that after receiving training for one year and the opportunity to see the behind-the-scenes screen of the musical industry in West End, England, as many as eleven participants appeared on stage.

"Hopefully the performance of the participants can be entertained and well received by art connoisseurs," he hoped.

The Nurbaya Musical fragment is rooted in the original musical presented by www.indonesiakaya.com in 2021 entitled Nurbaya's Musical Series. This production adapts the legendary story of the novel "Sitti Nurbaya: Intimate Love" by Rusli in a musical series that presents a combination of visual beauty, qualified acting and choreography, as well as a catchy of musical compositions that are interesting to hear, without leaving the elements of the Minang community.

One participant named Claudya Christina argues that participating in the 2021 Performance Art Creative Space program is a really impressive journey and expands insight in the world of performing arts.

This opportunity not only opened the door for Claudia to meet professional and experienced teachers in performing arts, but also provide interesting and useful training.

"Believed to present the successful Nurbaya Musical Series and has aired more than 20 million views on YouTube IndonesiaKaya is a challenge in itself for me. But I believe that every challenge is an opportunity to grow and develop. Hopefully, with all this learning and experience, I can continue to move forward and make a positive contribution in the performing arts industry," said Claudia.

Since 2015, the Performance Art Creative Space Program has been here to provide training for stage artists in the country. Then in 2019, the Creative Space Program for Performance Arts gave birth to training for the realm of musical theater, with various forms of training focused on vocal training, dance and acting.

During the pandemic in 2021, participants in the Creative Arts Performance Room Program have gone through a rigorous selection process and have received various trainings from local coaches who have experience in the field.

Of the 98 participants who participated in the 2021 Performance Art Creative Room, eleven participants were selected to take part in intensive musical theater training with West End Stage in London, England on 16-21 October 2023.

On this occasion, the participants had the opportunity to be trained directly with the international stage industry professionals. Through this program, the participants learned how a West End star actually underwent the whole process to be able to appear on stage.
