"We are very sad to hear of the passing of Sir Michael Gambon. He brought untold joy to Harry Potter fans from all over the world with his humor, kindness and grace. We will forever keep his memory in our hearts," wrote the @harrypotter account, quoted by VOI, Thursday, September 28.

Based on an article uploaded on the Reuters news site, it is known that the cause of this legendary actor's death was the pneumonia he was suffering from. When he breathed his last breath, Michael was accompanied by his wife and children.

"We are saddened to announce the 'passing' of Sir Michael Gambon. Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital, accompanied by his wife, Anne, and son Fergus, by his side, due to pneumonia," said the family, quoted by VOI from Reuters, Thursday, September 28.

Michael Gambon aka Sir Michael John Gambon himself was born on October 19 1940. Apart from playing in the Harry Potter films, Michael has also played in the films The Good Shepherd, The Omen, and Sky Captain and the World Tomorrow.
