Budi Pekerti's Film Opening Jakarta Film Week 2023

JAKARTA - Jakarta Film Week 2023 will be held on October 25-29 in a number of locations such as CGV Grand Indonesia, Kineforum Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), and Gallery Kaya Indonesia. As in previous years, Jakarta Film Week (JFW) will be opened with a film screening.

This year's opening film for JFW is the film Budi Pekerti by Wregas Bhanuteja and produced by Rekata Studio and Kaninga Pictures. Previously, this film had already been screened at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival and became the only film representing Southeast Asia.

At a press conference for the launch of this international film festival, Wregas said he was happy that Budi Pekerti's film could be screened at his own home. Although he said this film also received a warm welcome from the audience at the Toronto International Film Festival 2023.

"After the world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, I feel happy that the film Budi Pekerti can now meet the audience for the first time at his own home, namely in Indonesia," said Wregas Bhanuteja in Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, September 26.

"When Budi Pekerti airs abroad, this film gets a warm appreciation and welcome from international audiences who come from various backgrounds and cultures. They can feel the emotions and meanings experienced by characters throughout the film, and feel'related' to what happened where they came from," he continued.

In addition to being screened for the first time by JFW, Wregas Bhanuteja also revealed that he would screen Budi Pekerti's film in Indonesian cinemas on October 25.
