Steven Ragukan Mejelis Hakim's Decision That Wins Jessica Iskandar

JAKARTA - Stefanus Budianto alias Steven's civil lawsuit against Jessica Iskandar and Vincent Verhaag worth IDR 50 billion was rejected by the panel of judges at the South Jakarta District Court (PN) through their decision on Wednesday, April 12.

Responding to the decision, Togar Situmorang as Steven's attorney said that his party suspected that there were doubts and fears in the judge's decision on his client's lawsuit.

"Given the decision's resignation many times, even up to 4 withdrawals, and the last one was up to 3 weeks, we saw that this judge had a lot of doubts and fears," said Togar Situmorang when contacted by the media crew on Thursday, April 13.

Togar assessed that the judge decided based on the opinion made by Jessica in public. The lawyer saw that the judge did not dare to make a decision which he considered unpopular in granting his client's lawsuit.

"Because why, (the judge) was afraid that they would not be popular. Because after all, Jessica Iskandar formed a misguided opinion on our clients from the start by making dramas as if she suffered a fantastic loss," said Togar.

"Even though it is clear in the law, the determination of the CSB suspect at the Polda Metro Jaya is only one unit, and no losses have been raised," he continued.

Furthermore, Togar said the judge did not consider Jessica's statement calling her client a fraud without an inkrah legal decision.

This will be a black sheet related to the article on defamation through the media and become a jurisprudence. So that tomorrow many people can name their full name, post the image at will, mention fraudsters, DPOs, criminals. Without a decision, people will wake up their stomach later, "said Steven's attorney.

"Essentially, we are disappointed with the judge's decision. This means that the judge did not fully study our lawsuit and did not respect the legal principles, one of which should not be called a fraudster before there was an inkrah decision," he said.
