Ali Topan Film Reworked, Jefri Nichol Becomes The Main Actor

JAKARTA - The popular film Ali Topan Street Children and released in 1977 will be reworked by the production house Visinema. The actors involved, Jefri Nichol, Lutesha, Reza Hilman, Omara Esteghlal and Bebeto Leutualy are preparing to shoot in March 2023 at a briefing by director Sidharta Tata.

"We will start filming for Ali Topan next month, March 2023. Taking locations in Jakarta, Central Java to Yogyakarta," said Tersi Eva Ranti as producer during a press conference in Kemang, South Jakarta on Monday, February 27, 2023.

Like the film Ali Topan Street Children became an inspiration for young people in the late 1970s, director Tata wants to bring Ali Topan closer and relevant to today's young people, for that there are some changes to be made.

"The change is that we adapt to today's young people. Ali Topan that year, he was present as a marker of the times and representatives of young people at that time. For attributes and visuals, it will be different. What happened today will be packaged in such a way by us," said Sidharta Tata.

However, the director said that he would still maintain the spirit of the film, namely the rebellion and courage of Ali Topan, who was previously played by Junaedi Salat and is currently played by Jefri Nichol.

Still following the adaptation of Teguh Esha's Ali Topan novel, this film will invite the audience to follow the story of Ali Topan and Anna Karenina who come from respected families.

An unusual moment of encounter made Ali and Anna become two teenagers who fell in love with each other. But unfortunately their love story was hindered by the blessing of their parents.

In addition, this film will also tell the excitement of Ali Topan's adventures with Anna in finding a new future for each of them.
