JAKARTA - OMEGA X held a press conference to explain the incidents related to allegations of abusive and sexual violence committed by former CEOs of their agency. Last October, their video of being scolded by the CEO went viral on the internet.

It started when one fan saw the CEO ofSPIRE Entertainment hitting OMEGA X members after the concert. At that time the agency released a statement that the two parties had resolved a misunderstanding, but it was revealed that OMEGA X members returned to South Korea with their own money assisted by the members' parents.

The agency also briefly released an apology to OMEGA X. however, this has made the issue of abusive violence growing. SBS News revealed messages and videos showing OMEGA X members being scolded for not thanking the CEO and agency at the concert.

Now OMEGA X is assisted by legal representatives, Noh Jong Eon explained several points of trouble between them and the former CEO ofSPIRE Entertainment.

Noh Jong Eon explained that OMEGA X wanted to terminate its contract withSPIRE Entertainment. According to them, what happened to the members was one of the points of the lawsuit that strengthened the termination of the contract.

"It's not just our problem but it's a social issue. We did the courage to change this. Things like this happened in 2022 in South Korea. We are currently filing a lawsuit to terminate an exclusive contract," Noh Jong Eon quoted SBS News as saying today, Wednesday, November 16.

Representatives of OMEGA X explained that they would also report Kang's actions to the authorities on charges of assault, intimidation, indecent acts by coercion, and attempted threats. Members are threatened with paying 300 to 400 million won after the viral video.

"We have a lot of evidence including photos, videos and voice recordings," said Noh Jong Eon.

They also admitted that their thighs and hands were often touched at drinking events made by CEO Kang.

Jaehan, OMEGA X's leader, explained one incident that he experienced. He was once forced to drink until he experienced sexual harassment and warned to act well if he wanted to become an idol.

He touched my face and hands. After drinking, he contacted me via KakaoTalk. He said if we wanted to be idols, we had to crawl. He said he would commit suicide in order for members to receive therapy, "said Jaehan.

We think we have to defend for the fans waiting for us. As the leader and the oldest member, I was afraid our dreams would be shattered when we saw the members. But we are at the point we can't survive," he continued.

Another member, Yechan also revealed that he was also asked to drink (alcohol) as well as Hangyeom. Members are asked to join a drinking event if they don't want to lose the opportunity to become idols.

"They said there was no new album if we refused to attend the drinking event," Sebin said.
