Emancipation, Will Smith's Latest Film Ready To Come On December 2

JAKARTA - Will Smith's latest film entitled Emancipation will be released on December 2, 2022. Apple announced this on Monday, October 3 local time by releasing the first trailer from history directed by Antoine Fuqua.

Will Smith played the role of an escape known as badminton Peter after photos of keloid scars on his back were shared to show slavery brutality. The film follows Smith's character as he navigated the Louisiana swamp to escape from the plantation owner who almost killed him.

Emancipation is also available on Apple TV+ starting December 9.

Apple had chosen to postpone the film until 2023 after Smith got into controversy for hitting Chris Rock on the 2022 Academy Awards stage. Since then, Smith has avoided appearing in public.

However, Apple was back at first to present Emancipation as the end of 2022.

Apple itself is now seen as a potentially resilient Oscar competitor. After becoming the first streaming service to win the best film with CODA, the company is ready to campaign for an exciting list of titles throughout the fall.

However, summer releases like Sundance Cha Real Smooth and Luck's Sundance Animation favorites did not maintain that momentum.

Peter Farelly's Greatest Beer Run Ever has received sharp criticism at the Toronto International Film Festival. In addition, a film with a large budget from Martin Mungse, Killers of the Flower Moon will not be ready until 2023.

Emancipation is also considered the best effort from Apple to return to racing at the Oscars. The film was written by Bill Collage and produced by Todd Black, Joey McFarland and Jon Mone.
