JAKARTA - The famous Hip Hop Festival in Indonesia, FLAVS is confirmed to be back this year. Carrying the theme of Revival, this festival will be held offline for the first time.

The hip hop and soul themed festival chose the offline concept after being held virtually during the pandemic.

“It has to be a movement, we have to adapt, we become a virtual festival. Not only for FLAVS but for me and the industry to survive, that there is another way,” said M. Riza as the festival director.

The word Revival means revival which is a marker for the rise of the Hip Hop and R&B music industry throughout the country. They can introduce musicians in the industry to the public through this festival.

“Even though hip hop may not come from Indonesia, hip hop actors are spread from Sabang to Merauke who have their own uniqueness. So it's like the motto of our country, Bhineka Tunggal Ika," said Yacko as Program Director of the 2022 FLAVS Festival.

"This year's FLAVS carries the theme of Bhineka Tunggal Hip Hop and showcases local talents who, although different, still have one home, namely Indonesian Hip Hop," he explained.

FLAVS also held Flavs Nu Icon which is a competition to find new talents in the hip hop world which will be held on 24 May-2 June 2022.

The FLAVS festival will be held offline on 10 and 11 September 2022.
