JAKARTA - The Pachinko series is confirmed to continue into the second season. This news was confirmed by Apple TV+ as a production and streaming service after the 8th episode was released last week.

Produced by Soo Hugh, Pachinko is a series adaptation of the novel by Min Jin Lee. The series follows the struggles of four generations of Korean families who left their hometown in the 1900s.

"Words cannot describe how happy I am to be able to continue this amazing story," Soo Hugh quoted Deadline as saying.

"I'm grateful to the amazing team at Apple and Media Res Studio for supporting the series and the fans who have supported us," he continued.

Soo Hugh with Kogonada and Justin Chon directed eight episodes of Pachinko. The series stars Youn Yuh Jung, Lee Min Ho, Jin Ha, Minha Kim, Anna Sawai, Jung Eunchae, and others.

In the first season, Pachinko tells of Sunja (Minha Kim) who is in a relationship with a broker named Hansu (Lee Min Ho). Sunja, who is pregnant, just finds out that Hansu is married.

Sunja also married a priest named Isak (Steve Sanghyun Noh) and went to Japan. There they live with Yosep (Han Junwoo) and Kyunghee (Jung Eunchae).

With a back and forth plot, Pachinko brings Sunja's stories from time to time to life. Meanwhile, Apple TV+ has not announced when the second season of the Pachinko series will be broadcast.
