Prabowo Reveals Food Self-Sufficiency-Energy Pillars Of National Sovereignty

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto expressed the importance of realizing food and energy self-sufficiency as the basis for national sovereignty in the national development agenda 2025-2029.

He added that this effort must be a priority to ensure that Indonesia is able to stand on its own strength.

"So brothers and sisters, this is important for me to convey because our efforts to self-sufficiency in food and energy are the basis for sovereignty," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 30.

Prabowo said that food self-sufficiency is the foundation of physical protection for the people. Without sufficient food, according to him, the state cannot guarantee the survival of its citizens.

This is the basic meaning of national development in accordance with the state goals listed in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution.

"How can we protect the whole nation if we can't guarantee food. There is no country, no civilization without food, I remind you all," said the President.

In addition, the President also reminded the importance of maintaining natural resources and the homeland as part of the nation's bloodshed.

President Prabowo added that the success of national development could only be achieved if the government and all elements of the nation adhered to the basic values of the struggle and shared responsibility to protect and prosper the people.

On that occasion, President Prabowo also highlighted the skeptical culture of a handful of people who doubted the nation's own abilities.

He emphasized that his government is fully committed to building national sovereignty based on the mandate of the 1945 Constitution and the values inherited by the nation's founders.

"We have good intentions, we want to lead this nation with a clean government," he said.
