JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop) officially launched a new logo after separating nomenclatures with the Ministry of MSMEs.

Minister of Cooperatives Budi Arie Setiadi explained, this logo is a symbol of the transformation and modernization of cooperatives in responding to global economic challenges.

"This logo symbolizes the spirit towards Indonesia Gold 2045. Not just a logo, but the spirit of building cooperatives as an economic foundation," said Budi Arie at the Ministry of Cooperatives Building, Thursday, December 12.

Budi explained that the logo in the form of the letter 'K' with the symbol of the head of gold reflects a modern and dynamic cooperative. The Coordinating Minister is committed to making cooperatives the main player of the national economy.

"Towards Indonesia Gold 2045 requires modern, adaptive, and sustainable cooperatives. I believe cooperatives are able to realize social justice," he added.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Ahmad Zabadi, explained that this new logo is the result of a competition that started on November 8, 2024, with 1,932 registrants and 714 uploads. After a rigorous selection, the logo by I Putu Nathan Wikandhi was chosen as the winner with a total score of 412.25 and 565 public votes.

"This logo reflects the modern, professional, and adaptive impressions, according to the times," said Ahmad Zabadi.

The jury team of competitions involved branding expert Irfan Wahid, design expert Joshua Simanjuntak, LSPR academic Ulani Yusuf, Head of Communications and IT Bureau of the Ministry of Cooperatives Budi Mustopo, and creative industry player Dennis Adhiswara.

Each jury gives an assessment based on their expertise, including aspects of branding, visual communication, originality, cooperative philosophy, and creativity.

Ahmad hopes that this new logo will become a symbol of the transformation of cooperatives in Indonesia, support the Ministry of Cooperatives' vision to face global challenges, and strengthen the empowerment of cooperatives.
