Ahead Of Christmas And New Year 2023, The Ministry Of PUPR Calls The Implementation Of The Capai National Road 92 Percent

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) reported that the absorption of national roads ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays (Nataru) had reached around 92 percent.

This was revealed by the Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono in a working meeting (Raker) with the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) with Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Senayan Parliament Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 21.

"So, we can increase the national road for more than 47 thousand km to more than 92 percent, both in Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku and Papua," said Minister Basuki.

Minister Basuki said, Nusa Tenggara is the area with the highest level of road availability compared to other regions.

"Even those in Nusa Tenggara have the highest availability, which is 95 percent," he said.

He added that the application of this non-toll road national road was supported by the regional road inpres program or IJD.

"The readiness of this non-toll road is also supported by the regional road inpres program that we will carry out in 2023," he said.

According to Basuki, the IJD program also supports the construction of non-toll roads as a whole in the country, and now the number reaches more than 2,800 km spread across 33 provinces.

"Given that we focus on the regional road inpres to support road access to toll roads, for example toll access in Lampung. Then, support tourism access in North Sumatra, namely the Haranggaol-Sp Salbe section," he said.

Then, continued Basuki, his party also increased access to Puncak in West Java, namely the Menker section of Mount Batu.

"So, to Puncak now there is an alternative way, we have widened it and fixed it through the IJD," he added.
