JAKARTA The Indonesian government has again sent second-stage humanitarian assistance to Palestine which is affected by the conflict through the International Development Cooperation Fund (LDKPI) or Indonesian AID.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by the Palestinian Ambassador and a number of Ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet including the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Health, the Coordinating Minister for PMK, the TNI Commander, the National Police Chief and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs released assistance from the government, business actors, humanitarian agencies, and the community from Halim Perdana Kusuma Air Base, Jakarta on Monday, November 20.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that Indonesia would send as many as 2 planes that would transport 21 tons of aid in the form of medicines, hospital equipment, food, and other goods according to the needs of the people in Gaza.

This assistance comes from the government budget of IDR 31.9 billion and also comes from companies and the community, including from PT Paragon Technology and Innovation, Indonesian Humanitarian Alliance (IHA), Kita Bisa, the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas), and others.

Furthermore, Jokowi conveyed that apart from humanitarian assistance, Indonesia also continues to provide political support for Palestine.

As one of the special envoys of the OIC, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia is also in several countries to garner support so that atrocities in Gaza are immediately stopped, as soon as possible a ceasefire and humanitarian aid can enter properly to help our brothers and sisters in Gaza.

"Once again I emphasize that Indonesia will continue to support the struggle of the Palestinian people," he concluded.

LDKPI President Director Tormarbulang Lumbantobing said that for this second phase of humanitarian assistance, the government allocated assistance worth a total of Rp31.9 billion or the equivalent of US$2 million through funding the International Development Cooperation Fund (LDKPI) or Indonesian AID.

The assistance was sent in the form of medical needs currently needed by the Palestinian people. Among them are medicines and medical equipment such as hospitality sundries.

Meanwhile, this government assistance will be flown the day after tomorrow, November 22 through Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang.

"After entering Gaza, later the assistance will be distributed through UNRWA, namely the UN Agency that handles Palestinian refugees," he explained.
