Minister Sandiaga Ensures Coldplay Concert Continues Despite Many Waves Of Rejection

JAKARTA - Coldplay music concert will be held this week. Even so, a wave of rejections began to occur in Indonesia.

Jakarta's Coldplay 'Music of the Spheres World Tour' concert is considered to carry the propaganda of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT).

Responding to this, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno ensured that Coldplay's concert at GBK Senayan, Jakarta, on November 15, will continue as planned.

"As of today, shows must go on. So, everything is still on target, Coldplay will perform on November 15, this Wednesday," said Minister Sandiaga in The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno which was monitored online on Monday, November 13.

The man who is often called Sandi emphasized that his party is trying to make the concert run smoothly and safely.

"We also pray together at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, so that everything can have an impact on our better economy and of course the creation of business opportunities and employment opportunities. And this concert can be a place of proof that Indonesia is very worthy of being the venue for other major world concerts," said Sandi.

Even so, Sandi still reminded all relevant parties to hold a world music concert in a professional manner and have a positive impact.

"Don't forget that the impact on the local economy, which we predict is that around 10,000-15,000 tourists will be involved with the economic impact. We hope, it can be above 20 percent of the target we want to achieve," he said.

Furthermore, Sandi emphasized that his party will continue to monitor, both from constructive, positive, and worried inputs. One of them was conveyed by MUI.

"And we will be nominated of the relevant parties for consideration," he added.

As previously reported, the National Anti LGBT Movement (LGBT Movement) reported the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Kemenkopolhukam) and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the Coldplay concert to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters on Friday, November 10.

The report was made regarding the Coldplay concert which will be held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) Senayan, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, November 15.

"Earlier, we took action in front of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters to report two ministries, the Ministry of Political, Legal and Security & Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as well as the organizing committee. Obviously (they) have violated the existing laws in Indonesia," said Korlap Geranati LGBT Buya Husein in the Horse Statue area, Monas, Central Jakarta, Friday, November 10.

The two ministries were reported to the National Police Headquarters because they were considered to have violated the existing laws in Indonesia.

First, continued Buya Husein, in Pancasila at the first precept, it was stated that our country in Pancasila contained God Almighty.

"It is emphasized in the 1945 Constitution article 29 paragraph 1 where the state is based on the One Godhead," he said in an action against Coldplay's concert.

Then, it is emphasized in Article 31 paragraph (3) which reads: The Government is trying and implementing a national education system that increases faith and piety, as well as noble morals in order to educate the nation's life as regulated by law.

"Therefore, all understandings and actions that oppose the principles of One Godhead must be prohibited because they are automatically contrary to Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, including LGBT. LGBT is very detrimental to morals and undermines the moral character of the younger generation in Indonesia," he said.
