GIS Won 15 Gold Predicate Awards At Beijing International Innovation Event

The innovation that has been carried out by PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) won fifteen Gold predicate awards or the highest award at the 2023 International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) which took place on October 30 - November 3, 2023 in Beijing, China. The award was donated by the Tuban Factory GIS innovation team, PT Semen Padang, PT Semen Gresik, and PT Semen Tonasa.

The ICQCC 2023 international-level innovation award event was attended by 788 teams from 13 countries. The GIS innovation team that participated and won the Gold title in the 2023 ICQCC.

GIS Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni expressed her high appreciation to SIG innovators for their achievements in making the name of the Company and the Indonesian nation proud in the international arena. The award for innovation in this prestigious international event is also proof of the consistency and recognition of the innovation advantages created byIG employees.

Innovations entitled Optimizing Digital Technology-Based Quarry Mining Supervision Through the Quarry Mining Command Center (QMCC) In The GIS Tuban Factory' for example. The work of the QMCC Eagle Eye 4.0 innovation team from the Tuban Factory GIS which won the Gold predicate in the ICQCC 2023 event has helped the Company in ensuring the implementation of the rules of good mining practice and K3 culture in mining operations is running well, as well as making mining operations more effective and efficient compared to direct surveillance which requires a lot of coordination and time.

QMCC also ensures that the needs of field data are actually distributed and accurately so that decision making can be carried out quickly and precisely so that the cost and quality targets can be optimal. Since the implementation of QMCC in 2022 until now, the Tuban SIG Factory has recorded zero fatality and accidents in mining operations. QMCC also contributes to the efficiency of mining operational costs and raw materials worth IDR 4.2 billion/year.

Another GIS innovation that won the Gold title was the work of the Bridge innovation team from PT Semen Padang entitled Reducing Duration and Increasing Analysis of Troubleshooting Kiln Drive to Avoid Production Loss, Fuel Losses and Misinction Troubleshooting. The idea of this innovation began when there was damage to Kiln Drive at the Indarung V Factory which had a minimal information system that slowed the repair process.

For this reason, a tool for detecting disturbances called HMI Touch Screen Kiln Drive was created. Using the latest application-based technology, this tool is able to detect disturbances in less than 1 minute.

Previously, information on disturbances was only known in time to reach 4 hours, because there was only 1 alarm. Of course, this disruption has an impact on production loss. With this innovation, each disturbance can be detected in less than 1 minute. In fact, this innovation provides benefits for the company up to IDR 1.3 billion/year. This benefit is calculated based on down time caused by interference from Kiln Drive.
