JAKARTA - KAI Properti (PT KA Properti Manajemen), which is centered in Jakarta, has collaborated with data center management company VOLTARE (PT Voltare Lintasdata Teknologi) as a technology partner to support the transformation and breakthrough in the management of the Indonesian Railway property managed by KAI Properti.

"With this collaboration, in the future, the Rail Network and Railway Station will not only be seen as a network connecting human transportation and goods, but will also be seen as a Network for Internet Connection and Digital Services for Connecting strategic cities in Indonesia," said KAI Properti President Director Junaidi Nasution, in his statement, Wednesday 1 November.

KAI Properti as a subsidiary of KAI, manages KAI's assets and land, most of which are located in strategic areas of Java and Sumatra which are in excellent agreement with the character of the Edge Data Center (EDC) service development which requires a location close to the use of digital services.

Voltare, a Data Center company that is in the construction stage of a Hyperscale Data Center with a capacity of 150 MW over 10ha Daan Mogot, revealed that with the Edge Data Center in KAI strategic locations, it will be complementary to the Hyperscale Data Center.

Both hope that this project will be an important milestone in supporting technological developments in the country and providing superior solutions for customers in the Edge Computation and Content Delivery Network (CDN) sectors.

"The future of the Internet in Indonesia is a combination (i) of Cloud Computing Technology (Hyperscale Cloud) services that are centralized, high-security and massive, with (ii) EDGE computing technology services that are distributed, very low- latency and are closer to service users. By providing an integrated Hyperscale Data Center and Edge Data Center, Voltare will be home to digital technology players in Indonesia," said Jastiro Abi, President Director of Voltare.

This project can support the growth of the use of digital technology in Indonesia and accelerate the growth of the digital economy.

"EdC development in Indonesia is a necessity in line with the growing demand for Internet of Things (IoT) services and the plan to implement 5G services. Digital Indonesia consumers will continue to use eCommerce, Supermarket Online, Transportation and Online Media Applications and this will be reflected in Indonesia's digital economy growth of 19 percent per year with a value of 130 billion US dollars in 2025," concluded Arief Yahya, President Commissioner of Voltare.
