Elections To The Holiday Season Will Increase Garuda Passengers By 30 Percent

JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfan Setiaputra said the year-end holiday momentum together with the current election season will increase the number of airplane passengers by 30 percent compared to the usual day period.

Furthermore, Irfan explained that the 30 percent came from an increase during the holiday season with a portion reaching 20 percent and a general election or political year of 10 percent.

"Surely if our peak season increases by about 20 percent, the election combined should be 30 percent," he said when met at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Friday, October 27.

According to Irfan, now there has been an increase in ticket bookings, considering that now it has also entered the political year.

"We have broken the movement of increasing bookings for election problems. Not only the presidential election, but other general elections," he said.

Currently, said Irfan, the seat occupancy rate of Garuda Indonesia has approached 80 percent of the total existing capacity. Irfan said that if the occupancy had reached 80 percent, the party would likely increase the frequency of flights.

"For example, flights to various favorite destinations, such as Bali, Medan, Surabaya, Lombok, Labuan Bajo will definitely increase. We still see that first, later when it comes to elections, additions not only occur in tourist areas but also in the pockets of votes. Moreover, for example, a party feels that in that area he lost," he said.
