JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is facilitating as many as 46 small and medium industrial players (IKM) to expand export market access at the 38th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) in 2023.

Director General of Small, Medium and Miscellaneous Industries (IKMA) of the Ministry of Industry, Reni Yanita, said that this facilitation aims to open access for IKM players so they can carry out promotions, expand market access, and expand networks.

"Facilitating participation for SMEs at the TEI 2023 exhibition is a form of our total support for SMEs so they can expand their market access to export markets," said Reni in a written statement received by VOI, Friday, October 27.

Reni appreciated that the holding of the TEI 2023 exhibition also brought together potential buyers from various potential export destination countries so that the IKMs it fosters have the potential to export.

"We see that with the implementation of TEI 2023, apart from having the potential to carry out transactions in the export market, our fostered IKMs have the opportunity to expand their networks, add insight and information related to standardization in the global market, learn to carry out trade negotiations, and establish investment cooperation," he said.

Apart from holding exhibitions, TEI 2023 also organizes various other supporting activities, such as business matching and seminars.

"It is hoped that this exhibition can become a forum for increasing the capacity of local industrial players, especially those that are still small and medium scale," said Reni.

There are seven product commodities displayed at the TEI 2023 exhibition, namely food and beverages, home living, digital and services, beauty and personal care, chemical, energy and industrial products, textile fashion and accessories, as well as medical equipment and health services.

He revealed that those who were facilitated were IKMs that had received coaching programs and awards, such as four IKMs who won the Upakarti Award, 10 OVOP IKMs who were selected as participants in the One Village One Product (OVOP) Go Global Program, four (4) Machinery IKMs assisted by the IKM Directorate Metals, Machinery, Electronics and Transportation Equipment, as well as 28 Food and Beverage IKMs assisted by the Directorate of Food, Furniture and Building Materials IKMs.

Participation in the 2023 TEI exhibition is an opportunity for IKMs assisted by the Directorate General of IKMA to expand their export marketing network.

Exhibitors facilitated by the Ministry of Industry reported that they received potential buyers from various countries, such as the United States, Argentina, Chile, South Korea, Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Madagascar.
