Block Warim Called High Risk, Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Encourages KKKS To Conduct Consortium

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has auctioned off the Working Area (WK) which is included in the Warim Block, namely Akimegah I and AKimeugah II. Director General of Oil and Gas, Tutuka Ariadji, said that his party included these two WKs in the WK category with high risk and asked the Cooperation Contract Contract Contractor (KKKS) to conduct a consortium or cooperation in order to reduce risk.

Tutuka said, in order to immediately explore, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources cut the area that is included in the Lorentz National Park area which is indeed related to the WK.

The problem, continued Tutuka, is that it is not the WK that intersects directly with the National Park, but the Akimegah area which has not been touched by infrastructure so that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources categorizes the WK as a high-risk area.

Tutuka also said that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources had pocketed several KKKS names interested in WK Akimegah but he was reluctant to reveal these names. He reasoned that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources encouraged the KKKS to form a consortium in developing the WK located in Papua.

"Indeed, at this time we offer and there are those who are interested there but still in the early stages because the time is still long and we hope that it can be better to reduce the risk as a consortium, it's better not to immediately announce that there are those who are interested, but just try it together," explained Tutuka.

For information, the Government offered Akimegah I, which is located in the Mainland of South Papua and Papua Mountains with an area of 10.791 km2.
