JAKARTA - The presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo revealed that one of the priority agendas that will be carried out if elected as president in the 2024 presidential election is the energy transition.
He will also continue the renewable energy transition program which has now been implemented.
"We have a scenario we are trying to increase our energy transition from 13.4 percent to 31.4 percent in 2034. We are trying to confirm this scenario to PLN, whether we will accelerate or then if there are other factors there will be a slowdown," he said at the US-Indonesia Investment Summit 2023, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 24.
The former governor of Central Java said that to increase the mix of EBT at 31.4 percent, a budget of IDR 1,300 trillion was needed.
He said, this opportunity can be worked on together with entrepreneurs. Given that this energy transition can be a big business opportunity for you.
"It takes approximately Rp. 1,300 trillion to be able to execute this, I just want to convey it because there are many entrepreneurs, this is the opportunity that can be done towards a more friendly energy and of course we need it from this scenario. If you want to be optimistic up to 55.9 percent, but I think that's very optimistic, we want to find something moderate," he said.
Ganjar said, the transition to new and renewable energy can be done through the development of solar energy. He assessed that there is a large solar power company.
So that it can be an opportunity for Indonesia to develop this new energy.
"Our need is high enough for us to be able to develop at least one, I want to take it from the solar panels and I know there are companies big enough there that maybe when we look at this design, this is an opportunity that we can develop and the time is not too long," he continued.
