Oil And Gas Observers Value Illegal Mini Poms And Don't Meet Safety Standards

JAKARTA - Oil and gas observer Harry Poernomo assesses selling retail fuel oil (BBM) or mini pom is an illegal and very dangerous business.

The reason is, because it is not in accordance with safety standards, there are frequent cases of burning and exploding mini-points.

He asked the public to buy fuel oil (BBM) at official gas stations that have safety standards.

"Yes, because it is illegal. It is very dangerous, it is easy to fire," said Harry, quoted from ANTARA, Thursday, October 19.

According to him, mini pom does not have a permit, violates the rules, and does not have work safety standards.

If there is a fire at a mini-prom, it is the full responsibility of the business owner.

"Why? Because it is illegal, there is no institution that fosters and is responsible," he said by telephone.

Director of the Center for Energy Policy M Kholid Syeirazi stated that the authorities had the authority to thoroughly investigate the explosion case at a mini-promp in Sumedang, including how the mini-pom owner could obtain the pertalite to be traded, which later became the cause of the fire.

According to him, what the entrepreneur did was suspected of violating Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas.
