JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) supports the implementation of the 2023 in Indonesia 2023 Franchise & Licensing Expo 2023 as an effort to introduce and promote Indonesian original franchise brands to the wider public.

This activity will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center, on October 13-15, 2023, with the theme "Gain Your Momentum".

"I encourage this event to be utilized as well as possible by creative economy players and investors to take new business opportunities through the franchise business," said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno in a written statement received by VOI, Tuesday, October 10.

Sandiaga assessed that this event is also the right momentum to socialize Government Regulation (PP) Number 24 of 2022 concerning Implementation Regulations of Law Number 24 of 2019 (PP 24 of 2022), especially regarding Facilitation of Marketing Systems for Creative Economic Products Based on Intellectual Property.

"Many large companies come from franchises and liquensing such as McDonald's, KFC, and Disney. This is an opportunity to build a business," he said.

On the same occasion, the Director of Intellectual Property Development of the Creative Industry of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Robinson Sinaga, said that his party participated by presenting six intellectual assets (Intellectic Property/IP) in this event.

"The exhibition is an exhibition of business opportunities, so we present six local IPs," he said.

Meanwhile, Project Manager Franchise & License Expo Indonesia Rulief Harjianto hopes that this event can increase the knowledge and awareness of creatives regarding franchise and liquensing businesses.

"We want to advance the franchise business and take advantage of local IPs to advance business businesses," he added.
