In order to support the green economy, the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) provided four solar power plants (PLTS) to four public health centers (puskesmas) in the Natuna Regency, Riau Islands.

Head of the Health Service (Kandinkes) Hikmat Aliansyah said the four PLTS units were installed and were functioning properly.

The four health centers that received the PLTS were the Kelarik Health Center in North Bunguran District, Sedanau Health Center in West Bunguran District, Suak Midai Health Center in Suak Midai District, and the Marine Island Health Center in Laut Island District.

"We have proposed again additional PLTS to the center for next year," Hikmat said quoting between.

He explained that the Ministry of Health's goal of providing this assistance was to meet the needs of efficient and environmentally friendly electrical energy to disadvantaged, frontier and outermost (3T) areas.

He added that the PLTS was prioritized for the needs of medical equipment at the puskesmas. "We also use PLN," said Hikmat.

He said the budget used to build PLTS was quite large, therefore in the work his party asked for assistance from the Natuna District Attorney (Kejari).

"From the special allocation fund (DAK) a total of four billion, the contract last June," Hikmat said.

According to him, the assistance will be useful for puskesmas in the outermost areas such as Natuna.

Therefore, he thanked the central government. "Hopefully next year there will be additions," Hikmat said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Kelarek Health Center (Kapus), Ameri Yahya, said that the assistance was useful for the puskesmas because currently electricity in the area is often disrupted.

"Very useful, what's more, the electricity from PLN is not stable," said Ameri.

He said the installed PLTS has a power of 10 kVA, this number is sufficient to operate medical equipment at the puskesmas he leads.

"We use it for backup power," said Ameri.
