Rosneft Russia Withdraws Tuban, Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Says This

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that the New Grass Root Refinery Project of Tuban Refinery, East Java, which is included in the National Strategic Project (PSN) is experiencing funding problems because its investor, Rosneft, is still subject to international sanctions.

Regarding this, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana said the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources wanted all PSN programs to run smoothly.

For this reason, his party will soon find further solutions.

"We want all PSN roads, we are looking for ways," Dadan told the media crew at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Friday, October 6.

Dadan also said that dynamically, the project will continue to run.

"Perhaps in terms of implementation in the field, it is also dynamic that it continues," concluded Dadan.

Previously, Airlangga said that his party would look for a replacement for ROsneft to work on the NGRR project.

Although Rosneft did not clearly mention that he left, Arilangga confirmed that his party would look for a replacement.

"Because Russia has geopolitical problems and difficulties in investing and of course asks SOEs and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources to ensure that refinery is needed but we can find other investors," Airlangga continued in his statement to the media after a Limited Meeting related to PSN at the Presidential Palace recently.

"The PSN is still in because the project is still only a partner that must be found," concluded Airlangga.

Just so you know, the Tuban Refinery Project is a project owned by PT Pertamina (Persero) which holds 55 percent of shares and Rosneft holds 45 percent of shares.
