JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has just inaugurated the Jakarta Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) Whoosh. This first mode of transportation in Indonesia is ready to serve people heading to Bandung City.

"Bismillahiromanirohim, I declare that the Jakarta Bandung Whoosh Fast Train is operational," said Jokowi at the inauguration, at Halim Station, Jakarta, Monday, October 2.

Jokowi said this fast train was the first mode of transportation in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. He said, the inauguration of this fast train also marks the modernization of mass transportation in the country.

"The Jakarta Bandung Fast Train marks the modernization of our mass transportation which is efficient, environmentally friendly, and integrated with other modes of transportation as well as integrated with TOD, transit-oriented development, and this fast train project is something new for us," he said.
