The Ministry Of Industry's Response To Factories In Bekasi Is Considered To Make Jakarta's Air Quality Ukur Equipment Damaged

JAKARTA - Several factories in Bekasi, West Java, are considered to have disturbed the air quality measuring device at Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta.

The air quality measuring device is known to belong to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov), in this case the Environment Agency.

It is known that this air pollution monitoring tool is not placed in a neutral location.

This measuring instrument always shows bad air quality results throughout Jakarta.

Based on the search by the DKI Provincial Government, it turns out that the location of the air quality monitoring at Lubang Buaya is adjacent to the tofu factory, a charcoal manufacturing plant, to a cable combustion business in Bekasi.

Responding to this, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) Febri Hendri Antoni Arif said that his party had not received a report until now.

"We have not received any reports yet, but what is clear is that we already have standard emissions for waste disposal gas and so on, it is a requirement for industrial permits to be issued," Febri told VOI at the Ministry of Industry Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 27.

Febri said, if later reports were received, the Ministry of Industry would immediately follow up.

"So, if for example there is a (report) like that, maybe we will see the report first, then what the substance report looks like. If there are indications, we will submit a team there," he said.

Meanwhile, Febri claims that the largest contributor to pollution does not come from the industrial and transportation sectors, but from Steam Power Plants (PLTU).

"The pollution in Jakarta is mainly caused by pollution or pollution from the PLTU, not industry and motorized vehicles," he said.
