JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, through its subsidiary PT Pertamina Internasional Production Exploration (PIEP) is known to have won a tender over an oil block in Gabon, West Africa.

This was conveyed by the President Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Wiko Migantoro who was met on the sidelines of the 4th International Convention on Indonesian Upstream Oil and Gas Industry 2023 (ICIUOG) in Bali.

"We are waiting for the approval in Gabon where we are also appointed as winners of the tender through our subsidiary," said Wiko, quoted Monday, September 25.

Wiko said that his party had a limited participation right or Participation Interest (PI) of 45 percent.

The potential oil in Gabon is known to be 45 thousand barrels per day (bopd).

Later, said Wiko, oil taken from Blok Gabo will be brought to Indonesia to increase national energy security. For this reason, continued Wiko, his party will continue to check the suitability of the oil brought to Indonesia with the specifications of Pertamina's refinery in Indonesia.

"We have a bring the barrel home program. We have to check the suitability again with the specifications needed by the refinery and value chain. Even if it can't be done we can get other values," concluded Wiko.
